The Goulbourn Jubilee Singers is a non-auditioned community choir offering a wide variety of music and a fun time singing. We have options for anyone aged 8 to 88 (or older!) who wants to sing in harmony: Goulbourn Jubilee Singers (GJS) for adults 16 and older.
Our History
The Goulbourn Jubilee Singers was founded in 1977, by enthusiastic, music-loving people from the Stittsville, Ontario area. GJS welcomes any adult who enjoys singing. There are no auditions, and sight-reading ability is not required. We strive to learn good quality choral repertoire, and to perform it to the best of our abilities, but always having fun along the way!
The GJS started the JJs Youth Choir in September 2000, to encourage interest and involvement in choral singing with the younger singers in our community. Their fine voices and energy have made them a welcome extension of the established adult choir.
The GJS and JJs typically perform two major concerts per year as well as other community-service functions. Over the years, the choir has enjoyed showcasing a variety of themes and productions, from classical to musical theatre to folk and pop. Recent concerts have included an all-Canadian folk show, a programme of choral music about colours, a celtic show, and a jazz-inspired concert.
