We are an international group of women in central London who love singing, friendship and fun.
Whether you are an experienced singer looking for new musical challenges, or someone who wants to give singing a try for the first time, Barcarolle is for you. Comprising two choirs (the Belters with a modern/pop repertoire and the Divas with a classical repertoire), Barcarolle offers something to suit all musical tastes and ability levels. Both choirs are led by acclaimed choir trainer Sam Evans. His engaging and energetic style will have you raising the roof in no time at all!
**Within the Barcarolle Choir The Divas group is the original Barcarolle choir, formed in the spring of 2012 by like-minded ladies wanting to make music together. Since its formation under original Music Director Katrine Reimers, it has performed in several concerts at Christ Church Kensington, featuring soloists from the Royal College of Music. Its present Music Director is Sam Evans, and under his tuition the choir has expanded its repertoire and developed its sound.
The Divas group repertoire encompasses classical and contemporary music, and lighter songs. Rehearsals are fun and lively, with a focus on vocal technique and musical rehearsal. If you are a confident singer looking to develop your voice as well as learn exciting repertoire, this is the choir for you!
-The Divas rehearse on Thursdays from 13:30 to 15:00
**Since January 2017 the Belters group meets for one hour and 15 minutes on a Thursday lunchtime, enabling you to escape from the office and get the blood pumping with a high-intensity sing. Focusing on pop songs, jazz standards and songs from the West End, there is no requirement to read music to join this choir.
