Heather Mitchell was appointed Artistic Director of the Hopewell Valley Chorus in 2015. In addition, she is one of two Conductors-in-Residence at Manhattan Concert Productions, where she serves as a development associate and is the Operations Manager and Alto for the Manhattan Chorale (MCP’s in-house professional choir). She’s also an alto for the Manhattan Choral Ensemble.
Biography
As a specialist in unfamiliar repertoire, Heather founded the professional vocal ensemble FIVE LINES to perform such works and bring attention to pieces by major composers that have been overlooked. In the spirit of FIVE LINES, she recently conducted the vastly unknown Schumann Requiem, Op. 148 in Carnegie Hall with members of the Hopewell Valley Chorus.
