Celebrating its 42nd season, the CSCC again shares with the greater Toledo area a unique series of cultural offerings. The Chorus specializes in the performance of Negro spirituals and is dedicated to its preservation as well as the performance of works by African American composers. The CSCC also maintains a liberal helping of standard classical music in its repertoire. Its members come from all walks of life, unified by their mutual love of great music. This award-winning ensemble has performed numerous times on radio and television, including a broadcast of its 2017 and 2018 Christmas concerts. The CSCC has appeared numerous times with the Toledo Symphony Orchestra, including this year’s performance with them and the internationally acclaimed opera star, Kathleen Battle. The Chorus has performed with nearly every major musical organization in Toledo. The CSCC has embraced its civic role with participation in countless community events such as festivals, building and bridge dedications, numerous church and city programs and events. The CSCC is a past recipient of the “Community Impact Award” from the Arts Commission of Greater Toledo and, in 2002, was awarded the prestigious “Community Achievement in The Arts Award.” You are invited to contact the Director or any chorus member if you would like to join or engage this outstanding ensemble. The CSCC is a 501(C)3 cultural non-profit.
