Our Staff and Board of Directors have decided, that to better serve our community, we need a better name. A name should reflect our mission. It should be unique and memorable.

Why make a change? We felt “The Advent Project” did not adequately express our mission to “inspire, educate, enlighten, and enrich Montgomery County and the ​Greater Washington, DC area with unique choral concerts, performed at the highest artistic standard.” In the “Elevator Speech” world in which we exist, we found ourselves explaining our name, especially in response to questions from our audiences and potential supporters and donors about our organization’s history.

Why change now? The timing of a name change is always problematic, but less burdensome in the relative early stages of an organization’s history. We felt our organization’s profile in Montgomery County, and the greater Washington, DC area could use a boost at this point in our history. We recognized in some cases our name was holding us back. We think the new name will help us attract new audiences and donors, essential ingredients we seek in our ongoing growth.
